Community Benefit Fund

Qualitas Energy is committed to being a force for good as we seek to provide UK-generated, low carbon energy, helping to secure the UK’s energy supply whilst delivering benefits to society and the environment.

Alongside the benefits that this project brings in terms of net zero, energy security and environmental improvements, Qualitas Energy also aims to bring localised benefits to the area by working with the local communities hosting this project, through offering a community benefit fund.

Should the project be approved, Qualitas Energy will provide a community benefit fund, which will provide financial support for activities or projects in the local area of the Fraxinus Solar Farm. We are committed to aligning our approach to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”) and seek to support projects that improve the local community or anything which promotes the economic, social or environmental sustainability of the local area.

For its UK solar farm projects, Qualitas Energy has a community benefit fund policy which provides £500 per installed megawatt capacity per year of the lifetime of the project. This figure is index linked.

How the community benefit fund is best managed and distributed within the community will be determined as we develop the proposals for Fraxinus Solar Farm. If you have any suggestions as to how the community fund could be used, please get in touch using the contact details below. We will be running a consultation event in relation to the community benefit fund.
